As some of you who follow me here on the blog or social media know, E recently started school! Baby Aric also reached a milestone, he’s finally sitting on his own without support! With these different milestones reached, it had me thinking about the ways we connect and share these events and milestones with our friends and family and how important it is to have a reliable connection, whether it be through phone or internet.
I love connecting with friends and family through social media using apps like Instagram and websites such as Facebook. Like a lot of people, I share photos and statuses about our life and goings on in our family on Facebook. My closest friends and loved ones enjoy seeing pictures of my kiddos and watching them as they grow! I feel like it’s the best way to connect with everyone, whether they are local to us or live far away. Facebook seems like that one social media platform that just about everyone is on!
For those of our friends and family who aren’t so tech savvy, we keep connected with them by phone. It may sound strange in this day and age but we have a home phone! We appreciate having the security and reliability of FiOS Digital Voice! I know a lot of people decide to opt-out of having a home phone but when speaking to loved ones, I much rather talk to them on a home phone versus my iPhone or any cell for for that matter. For one, A dedicated phone saves your wireless minutes if you are on that kind of call phone plan. It also frees up my cell phone for multitasking. Plus, my home phone is much more comfortable to talk on not only for me but for E as well. It’s a lot easier for her hands to grip the phone when she is talking to Grandma or other relatives.
One of E’s favorite ways to communicate with family is FaceTime and any kind of video chat on my phone, tablet or computer! I prefer to let her FaceTime when we’re connected to wifi so that she’s not using up my cell phone data. She loves talking to her Grandma and recently video chatted with my brother (her uncle) while he was at a local race track! She actually got to watch a dragsters race in real time. It was pretty cool for the both of us! With that being said, it’s so important to have a good internet connection. Without a good connection, you may experience lag, slow loading times, and that sort of thing. We don’t have to worry about that though becasue with FiOS Internet, we have the fastest internet speeds on a reliable network! I actually feel pretty lucky to have such a great service and network.
In what ways do you keep connected with friends and family? How important is a reliable phone and internet service to you?
