Did you know that I’m a former preschool teacher? One of my favorite things to do with my class of 3 and 4 year olds was guiding them to learn through play. Part of that play was through using fun games and activities to promote different skills. Even though I’m no longer working with preschoolers, I have my own preschooler who I encourage to learn through play. I love toys and games that halp to stimulate her little mind.
eeBoo is a toy company that produces beautiful high-quality toys and crafts that are designed to inspire creativity and thoughtful playtime. eeBoo commissions artwork from acclaimed children’s book illustrators and many eeBoo items have won the Oppenheim Best Toy Award and other honors. We recently had the pleasure of getting to play with Opposites Puzzle Pairs and the About Face Game.
E was intrigued by the About Face game which is recommended for children ages 3 and up. The game includes 160 object images that when placed together, create all sorts of fun faces! As a parent and a former educator, I love that this game helps to sharpen recognition and memory skills. It also encourages E to get creative and have discussions about feelings. This is a game that really stimulates the imagination!
Right after playing with the About Face game, E moved on to the Opposites Puzzle Pairs which she explored with her cousin Mikey! Unfamiliar with the game, they decided that they were going to just explore rather than play the games featured on the back of the box. On the box you will find suggestions on how to play and how to encourage self expression and vocabulary development by doing things like discussing the images in the pairs which is what we did. Also on the box, you will find some excellent resources that include book suggestions that discuss opposites. I loved how this game encourages those fine motor skills.
The kids talked about the different pictures on each piece and asked questions. E and I have played the different games suggested on the box and this has become one of her favorites to play with along with the About Face game!
You also might appreciate that both games are made from 90% recycled materials! Check out all that eeBoo has to offer on their website where you can also purchase fun toys and games like About Face and the Opposites game! I know it’s a little early for some of us to start thinking about the holidays but either one of these games would make a great holiday gift or stocking stuffer (depending on the size of the stocking)!
Tell me, which game mentioned above do you think your child would love?
