How did you spend your Valentine’s Day? I spent mine at Monster Jam at the IZOD Center in NJ with E, my sister, and my nephew, Angel! Not only did we have tickets to the show, we had Pit Party passes as well!
The night first started out with the Monster Jam Pit Party where our family had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the trucks, meet the drivers, take pictures and get autographs! We met with Adam Anderson, The driver of Grave Digger: The Legend who answered questions from fans and talked about the process of changing a tire on a Monster Jam truck while one of his crew members changed the tire right in front of our eyes!
After meeting with Adam, we walked around the show floor, checking out the other trucks and meeting their drivers. E was really fond of the “pink truck” (as she referred to it fr the rest of the evening) which is called Madusa and driven by… Madusa! She was nice enough to take a photo with E and E was thrilled!
The kids also excited to get up close to familiar Monster Jam Trucks at the Pit Party. Those included Grave Digger and Captain America!
Once the Pit Party was over, We took our seats and the kids put on their protective ear wear as seen in the first photo. Don’t worry moms and dads, Ear plugs and headphones are sold at Monster Jam merchandise stands but you can also bring your own ear protection! I’m used to going to concerts with loud music (that’s the cool mom in me) so instead of using ear plugs, I stuffed my ears with some toilet tissue and, voila!
At Monster Jam, you can expect heart-pounding racing and unbelievable freestyle driving! The show started off with a freestyle competition. If you’re new to Monster Jam like myself, freestyle is where the drivers perform tricks and stunts with the truck in order to demonstrate driver skill and truck capability. The kids were totally engaged in the performance and cheered on their favorite trucks, E’s being Madusa because as I mentioned above, she was obsessed with
the “pink truck.”
My personal favorite truck was Grave Digger: The Legend driven by Adam Anderson. Check him out performing stunts in his truck below!
Other performances at Monster Jam included The Nuclear Cowboyz in action, performing stunts on their motocross bikes and extreme pogo stick stunts from Xpogo. Angel just received a pogo stick for Christmas and he looked thrilled to be watching the stunts!
Overall, we all really enjoyed attending Monster Jam and the Pit Party! I honestly didn’t think E would love the show as much as she did! I can’t wait for Monster Jam to come back to New Jersey, or family will definitely be attending it again in the future!
If you plan on attending Monster Jam, I highly recommend purchasing Pit Party passes! The kids had such a blast meeting the drivers and getting close to the tucks!
