There are many reasons you might want to choose an umbrella stroller for your baby or toddler. It’s my preferred type of stroller becasue most are less bulky, lightweight, and easier to store. Some strollers are more comfortable than others and offer different features to fit your family’s needs. Depending on those needs and what makes your infant or toddler cozy, there are probably specific features you would want to take into consideration when purchasing a new stroller.
Choosing the Right Umbrella Stroller!
If you’re doing a lot of strolling outdoors, you may want to choose a stroller with a canopy so that your little one has shade from the sun. There are strollers with over-sized canopies and ones that offer UV protection. I personally love when umbrella strollers have a peak-a-boo window! This window allows parents to look in on their child without disturbing but can also be fun way to interact with them while strolling.
When shopping for a stroller, you’ll also want to make sure that it’s built to last. Is the stroller you’re considering one that will last you from birth to toddlerhood and beyond?
My little man often falls asleep in our stroller so a smooth transition to the recline position is important! A multi-positional recline is ideal. My little man isn’t comfortable in a flat recline so positioning him on an angle is preferable!
Not all umbrella strollers offer a smooth ride! One thing I take into consideration is whether or not a stroller has wheels with suspension. In my experience, wheels with suspension offer a smoother ride and work better when strolling on a not-so-smooth surface such a sidewalk or gravel.
I have three major must-haves when choosing a stroller. For one, The stroller needs to have a cup holder for mom that is easy to clean in case of a spill! I also prefer a large storage basket to hold all of my family’s stuff. We go on a lot of outings so a storage basket that can hold baby and toddler essentials plus some miscellaneous items is important. Lastly, the stroller needs to be easy to fold! I don’t want to struggle trying to get a stroller to fold and into my car.
With all of that considered, My preferred umbrella stroller is the Graco Breaze™ Click Connect™! I was first introduced to this stroller by a friend and was impressed with what I saw. We started using our Breaze™ in early summer and since then, it’s the only stroller we use with Aric who will turn three in December. So why the Graco®’s Breaze™? This stroller has all of the features mentioned above and more! The Graco Breaze™ Click Connect™:
