Tips for Planning a Family Movie Night!
Have plenty of snacks!
Popcorn is always the first snack that comes to mind when planning for a family movie night but there are some other fun snacks you may want to include! My kids’ favorites? Ice cream and chips. For a healthier snack, I recommend apple slices, granola, carrot sticks, and pretzels.
Choose a film!
Make sure to select a movie according to age and interest. We make typically will make a list and then on each family movie night we have E pick a movie off of the list. Some of our suggestions include Moana, Trolls, Inside Out and Storks!
You’ll want to create a cozy space for your family to watch the film. Let your kids grab some blankets and pillows. Allow them to arrange them how they wish. Some other suggestions include beanbag chairs, a blow up mattress, or couch cushions.
When it comes to clothing, There’s nothing more comfortable than pajamas! Am I right? Have your kids put on their favorite jammies. This will also make the transition from movie to sleep easy!
Put your phone on silent!
Just as if you are watching a movie in a theater, put your phone on silent or if you prefer, on vibrate. This allows you to enjoy the film and be in the moment with your kids! We also have a “no electronics” rule on family movie night. That means no cell phones, tablets or any other devices so our focus is on the movie and each other.
