I’ll be honest, I don’t have a lot of opportunities for “me” time so when Momtrends invited me to their Mom’s Night Out event, I jumped at the opportunity!
Like a lot of moms, I’m finding it hard to have balance even though I’ve been doing this parenting thing for over 5 years. You would think I would’ve gotten the hang of it by now! Turns out, I’m not alone. It was refreshing to hear Meredith Publications’ editor, Dana Points, discuss a new article from September’s issue of Parenting Magazine titled “Balance is BS” which is part of their Working Motherhood series.
According to a survey of over 2,000 moms, 63% still believe that balance is achievable. When asked what could make them feel more balanced, 73% said making time for themselves. I feel the same way! Make sure to check out “Balance is BS” in the September issue of Parents and part 2 of the Working Motherhood series titled, “Crushing It”, in the October Issue!
Mom’s Night Out Fun!
After hearing from Dana and Nicole of Momtrends, the moms in attendance had the opportunity to participate in some fun activities! These activities included lotion making with Glad, creating new mom gift boxes with Philips Avent and more!
Decorating Clorox Containers
I don’t know about you but I’m preparing for the upcoming cold and flu season by stocking up on Clorox Disinfecting Wipes. They kill 99.9% of germs including viruses that cause colds and flu which is why they are a must in my home! With that being said, One of the activity stations I most looked forward to was the Clorox one. We created some decorative Clorox containers using paper with fun prints and other supplies.
I usually toss my Clorox wipes under the sink. It’s more convenient to keep them on my counter but not really something I want on display. The decorative containers are cute enough to proudly display on my counter!
Overnight Oats with Quaker
My family loves Quaker oatmeal and I’ve been wanting to try Overnight Oats. If you’re not familiar with them, they are a super quick and easy breakfast! All you need is a 1/2 cup milk and a 1/2 cup oats. Top that off with your favorite ingredients and refrigerate overnight so that it can be enjoyed in the morning! This is something that my whole family can enjoy!
New Mom Gift Box with Philips Avent
If you have little ones, you’ve probably heard of or have used Philips Avent products. They are the #1 reusable bottle brand and pacifier brand in the US. Philips Avent recognizes that feeding sets the stage for both emotional and physical growth, while ensuring that these Nourishing Moments are done right. Although I didn’t use their products with my littles, I know plenty of mom’s who use their bottles and pacifiers.
I recently had two nephews born within just a few weeks of eachother so I was excited to create a new-mom gift box. The box contains two different types of Philips Avent Bottles, one pack of sooties, and one pack of pacifiers.
Earth’s Best New Offerings for Big Kids!
I can’t forget to mention the delicious snacks that were served during the Mom’s Night Out Event! When I found out we were snacking on Earth’s Best new Pretzel Bites and Stuffed Bites, I couldn’t believe it! Earth’s Best is known for providing organic products for babies and now they’re taking those same wholesome ingredients and offering nourishing meals for older kids! The pretzels were soft and came it two types, pizza and cheddar which were booth delish! After getting to try the new offerings myself, I can honestly say they are definitely something my kids would enjoy lunching or snacking on!
I was thrilled to find out that I won $100 worth of Earth’s Best Products! As I mentioned above, I think the Pretzel Bites and Stuffed Bites are going to be a hit. I also know they’d love to munch on Earth’s Best Mini Cookies as well as old favorites like Organic Crunchin’ Crackers and of course pouches.
Lotion making with Glad!
I love scented lotion and use it pretty much every time I was my hands. This is the first time I tried making my own! Attendees were able to make lotions inspired by Glad’s scented trash bags.
I started out making lavender lotion inspired by Glad’s Mediterranean Lavender scented trash bags but then I moved on to the Coconut inspired by Glad’s Hawaiian Aloha Scent. My lotion now smells like a mix of both lavender and coconut which isn’t a terrible thing! Who knew that it would make a nice blend? Stop back tomorrow to read more about my experience with Glad products and learn how to make your own lotion inspired your favorite Glad scents!
Here’s my question to you: Do YOU get enough “me time”?
Thank you Momtrends and partners for hosting this Mom’s Night Out event and sponsoring this post! Although this post is sponsored, all opinions stated are my own.
