E will be starting Pre-K soon and she can’t wait! Although I am sad to see my first born go off to school for the first time, I’m secretly counting down the days until her first day! Because we are SO excited for the start of the the school year, we put together a fun teacher’s gift packed with items E’s new teacher might need during the school year!
As someone who worked with children this age, I started to brainstorm items I might have needed for my classroom and may have had to pay for out of my own pocket when I was a preschool teacher. Some of the items we decided to include in our teacher’s gift:
- Glue Sticks
- Pencils for lesson planning
- Post-It Notes
- Hand Sanitizer
- Sanitizing Wipes
We also snuck in a Netflix gift card becasue teachers need a break too! Everyone should have a little Netflix in their life!
Speaking of Netflix, over the summer we discovered some great titles to stream to keep E’s brain active. Some titles have also been a fun way to help ease E’s mind during the transition to Pre-K. Some of those shows we have streamed on Netflix include the The Magic School Bus and Reading Rainbow. These are titles that I actually enjoyed watching as a kid and find it fun to bond over with E when she watches them now!
For your bigger kids, you will find titles such as Odd Squad, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, and How the State Got Their Shapes that may pique their interest! Ever After High fans will find their favorite fairytale characters in Ever After High’s new Way Too Wonderland adventure which empowers kids to write their own life stories.
Project Mc² is a Netflix Original Series that puts a fun spin on stuff like math homework, spelling tests, science reports for your older kids! The show features four super smart and very cool teen spies who show how girls can use their science smarts and math problem-solving skills to save the world.
Don’t forget to have your little ones check out the Netflix original Dinotrux from DreamWorks which premiered earlier this month! These prehistoric hybrid dinosaur-construction vehicles team-up to use their different skills to solve problems and show that even the most uncommon of duos, like Ty-Rux and Revvit, can form friendships of a lifetime!
Who is more excited for the start of school, you or your kids? What titles on Netflix have kept your child’s brain active over the summer?
