From the creators of How to Train Your Dragon comes an all-new Netflix original series, Dragons: Race to the Edge, that takes Hiccup and Toothless to the edge of adventure!
Soaring beyond their home on the island of Berk in search of new dragons, Dragons: Race to the Edge introduces some of the most exciting dragons yet, each with its own amazing abilities — shock waves, cannon balls and fire blasts, just to name a few.
With the magical Dragon Eye, an artifact Hiccup finds aboard an abandoned ship, Hiccup learns there is more outside the confines of Berk, and that a little curiosity and determination can make every day an exciting journey. In Hiccup’s own words, “this changes everything.”
With the arrival of Dragons: Race to the Edge on Netflix, we recently had a themed viewing party with the “To the Edge and Beyond” viewing kit we were sent from our friends at Netflix! Our kit included some cool masks and props, a blanket (which also doubled as dragon wings), some sidewalk chalk and a lunch box with some fun treats!
With the masks and props, E and her cousin Angel were able to channel their inner viking and dragon.
The kids looked over Hiccups’s top secret map to help guide them through their explorations. Your kids can find an interactive version of the map for your kids to check out here!
Even the snacks we had were perfect for the themed viewing party and included “dragon claws” and “dragon scales.” The kids also drank some red fruit punch which we called “dragon juice.” E’s favorite snack was clearly the Dragon Claws.
While creating their own adventure, the kids watched episodes of Dragons: Race to the Edge for some inspiration! With how hot the temperatures have been outside, we’ve been spending a lot of time indoors which has been the perfect time to binge watch the season. We split the thirteen 22 minute episodes over two days, watching the first six one day and seven on the next. The action packed episodes are fun to watch for all Dragons fans! Check out the clip below!
Have your kids watched Dragons: Race to the Edge yet? If not, Head over to Netflix and start streaming!
