It’s been so hot around here this summer and since wasn’t ready, the kids have limited ways to cool down. I was excited when the Zoku Quick Pop Maker arrived at my door! It’s an easy to use maker, simply pop the base into the freezer for 24 hours minimum and once you have it frozen completely it’s time to play with different recipes. You can find some of those amazing Zoku Quick Pop Maker recipes on my Pinterest board. For our first try, the kids and I decided on a vanilla pudding pop with sprinkles!
I will say I messed up a bit here. I let the pudding set up over night instead of just mixing it and pouring it into the Zoku then letting it set. They still turned out yummy though! We put some sprinkles in the Zoku, our white Zoku sticks and then our pudding. It literally took 10 minutes to make these yummy treats! The kids were in awe over them, my 9 year old could not figure out how it froze so fast, in fact he is excited to try more recipes!
Here’s the recipe for the super simple Vanilla Sprinkle Pops we made!
Vanilla Pudding Surprise Pops
- 1 package vanilla pudding
- 1 jar of your favorite sprinkles
- 1 Zoku Quick Pop Maker
- Freeze your Zoku Quick Pop Maker for 24 hours.
- When ready, pour some sprinkles into each slot then mix up your pudding according to the box and set aside.
- Put your Zoku Quick Pop sticks into the maker and fill each slot with pudding.
- Sit back and wait 7-10 minutes. Enjoy!
The Zoku is very easy to clean I just hosed it out with hot water in my kitchen sink, let dry and popped it back in my freezer for next time. The sticks come in 2 pieces so they are also very easy to clean as well.
There are endless possibilities when it comes to recipes with the Zoku. Add your favorite juice or mixture of juices, fresh fruit, or even add a little alcohol to make Margarita flavored pops for the adults. Just make sure to keep those away from the kiddos!
My 9 year old and 2.5 year old were able to use the Zoku with no issues so this is pretty much perfect for all ages! The older kids actually like when I put a few different things on the table and let them mix and match and make their very own freeze pop.
As some of you know I had a baby back in May. I’m considering testing out this Quick Pop Maker with frozen breastmilk that way my little man has a healthy way to cool down this Summer too! When he does start eating baby food, why not pour some bananas into the Zoku and make him a banana freeze pop? Oh my, we are going to have so much fun with this little gem!
The Zoku Quick Pop Maker retails on their site for $49.95 which is a fabulous price for this item and is available in five fun Summery colors! This was a review item but to be totally honest, I would gladly paid that for this! As I mentioned, it’s super easy to clean and use. With kids wanting freeze pops all summer, it’s nice to be able to skip the ice cream truck and provide them with this healthy alternative to the store bought sugar laden stuff!
Use your imagination and let me know what other recipes or items you would like to see tried, or even run over to the Zoku site and purchase your very own and then share your recipes with me!
