When a child in our family has a birthday, we go all out! Even if there is a party planned for that child, we typically have a separate family get-together with cake and all of that fun stuff. I’m always keeping my eye out for fun cards for kids to help make that day feel extra special. So of course, I headed to Walmart to see what I can find for my nephew, Angel, who is turning 6 this month! It’s insane how time flies! I know it might sound cliche but I remember him being born like it was yesterday. Now that he is a “big kid,” I wanted to find him a card that really stood out and had a positive message.
I always loved the Hallmark card options available at Walmart for kids. There is alway a huge selection and I sometimes find myself standing in the card aisle for almost an hour, just browsing cards! I recently came across these fun kids poster cards that once unfolded, turn into a fun poster for a child to hang in their room! What a great way to make a card go a long way! At my local Walmart, The cards were located right on the endcap of the aisle and there were a few right in the section with other cards for kids.
There were a ton of cards with some favorite kids characters from TV and movies, appropriate for kids of all ages. For the smaller, I saw Sophia the First, Jake and the Neverland Pirates and even Doc McStuffins. For the bigger kids, there were cards featuring Disney Princesses, Austin and Ali, Atar Wars, and Marvel superheroes! Once I saw this Spider-Man card, I knew I had to pick it up!
Spider-Man is one of Angel’s favorite superheroes! The outside of the card reads, “You don’t need a secret identity.” and when you open the card, “Everyone already knows you’re amazing! Happy birthday” There is a picture of the card unfolded into a jumbo poster with measurements!
We presented the card with a Spider-Man figure. Angel took the envelope which was pretty thick and had that curious look in his eye. Once he took the card out and and saw Spider-Man, he was ecstatic! After reading the card, I told him that there was more to the card and he should open it further. As he started to unravel it, he was thrilled to find that his birthday card turns it to an “awesome” poster!
We immediately headed to Angel’s bedroom to find a spot for his cool new Spider-Man poster. He couldn’t believe that the poster was bigger than him!
