We recently had the opportunity to attend Disney Junior Live On Tour! Pirate & Princess Adventure at Madison Square Garden in NYC! If you have a Jake fan, Sophia fan, or both, your child is not going to want to miss this show!
Audiences will then embark on a journey to the magical world of Enchancia, where Sofia, her step-siblings Amber and James, and the entire kingdom are preparing for the annual friendship festival. Sofia has the honor of delivering the perfect gift to her royal subjects at the celebration, and the one-and-only Cinderella visits the castle to help Sofia in her mission to find just the right present. The excitement continues when families cast away to Never Land where Jake and his Yo Ho pirate friends Izzy and Cubby are in a race against time to locate a mysterious treasure-filled volcano. Danger, thrills and adventure lurk around every turn when our swashbuckling friends battle Captain Hook for the ultimate prize. Peter Pan makes a special appearance, aiding the team in their heroic quest, and with the help of Tinker Bell’s pixie dust, Jake and his crew fly above the stage in their journey.
E and I attended the performance with our friend Polly and her daughter Chloe. Shortly after we got settled in our seats, We had the chance to see the Doc McStuffins special pre-show which happens 10 minutes before show time (so make sure you get to the venue early)! E adores Doc McStuffins and was more than thrilled to get to see her on stage!
In the first part of the act, Sofia and her family prepare for a royal celebration that helps us all learn the true meaning of being a princess! There is even a special appearance by Cinderella which little princesses in the audience will love! The girls giggled at the point in the show where Sofia was attempting to make a cake and made way too many, causing a huge mess! Towards the end of the act, Bubbles blew into the audience below us! E saw this and said, “Mom! I want to catch them!” Unfortunately we weren’t close enough to the stage so learn from my mistake and get tickets close to the stage!
Mickey and Minnie led us to a brief intermission then the second part of the performance started! Jake, Izzy and Cubby battle Captain Hook to unlock treasure hidden inside a mysterious volcano! It’s danger and dueling on the high seas as Jake discovers what it takes to be a true hero. E loves Jake and the Neverland Pirates so she was hooked! Her eyes lit up as Peter Pan flew on to stage to help Jake who was trapped by Captain Hook!
The girls were totally engaged in the entire show! The whole performance is about 90 minutes long which is perfect for the ages in the audience. Elise just turned three and we still sometimes have a hard time getting her to sit for a long period of time but she was hooked on the entire performance!
