How we make brushing teeth fun with the Oral-B Disney Timer App! #ProHealthKids #ad

E normally loves brushing her teeth and has loved brushing ever since we started when she was young but, she sometimes puts up a fight. My nephew, Angel,  also tends to procrastinate and does whatever he can to avoid the task. We actually have a separate toothbrush for E’s baby doll so that she can “brush” the dolls teeth before her own as seen in the photo below which I recently posted on Instagram.

Angel on the other hand is not as easily swayed and we especially have a hard time getting him to brush for the whole two (2) minutes which is recommended by dentists. That was until we discovered the free Disney Magic Timer App from Oral-B, available in the App Store and on Google Play. About the app:

With the FREE Disney Magic Timer app by Oral-B, powered by you can bring Disney and Marvel characters to life and help even the most reluctant little ones brush longer. To unlock the fun, all you need is a Crest or Oral-B Pro-Health Stages product.

As soon as I downloaded the Disney Timer App onto my iPhone, Angel’s interest was piqued. We first set up a profile E. She picked out one of her favorite Disney Jr. characters, Jake from Jake and the Never Land Pirates. I then created a separate profile for Angel who chose his favorite Marvel character, Iron Man.

I also surprised both E and Angel with new Oral-B Pro-Health Stages toothbrushes and toothpastes that were sent to us! We then got down to business after a fun photo opp.

We first went into Angel’s profile on the Disney Magic Timer App and scanned his toothbrush but you can scan any Crest or Oral-B Pro Health Stages product (including toothpaste). Once the product is scanned, the fun begins and the timer will start! As your child brushes, A toothbrush on the screen starts brushing away bubbles, revealing a picture of one of your child’s favorite characters after a full two (2) minutes of brushing! The longer your child brushes, the more “prizes” they collect in their “Magic Album.”

With E, I help guide her using my hand over her’s when brushing. This sometimes frustrates her because being an independent preschooler, she wants to brush her own teeth but doesn’t always do it properly. I did notice that once we started using the Disney Magic Timer App from Oral-B, she now let’s me help guide her without the fuss. This is because she’s watching whats going on the app as I’m guiding her!

The kids had so much fun watching the bubbles being brushed away on the app! As a parent, I appreciate that the app encourages kids to brush and for the full amount of time recommended. I also like that I’m able to track their progress on the brushing calendar.

What is the craziest thing you ever did to get your kid or kids to brush their teeth?
